About Mike “Redd” Ostrowski

 

Michael “Redd” Ostrowski, owner and principal operator of Redd’s Automotive, began working on cars when he was 10 years old. He bought his first car, a Fiat convertible, when he was 12, fixed it up with a little help from his dad, and, looking back, he admits that's when his passion for cars was truly born. At 15, he restored a 1965 Ford Mustang in the family garage and painted it cherry red. Five more mustangs were to follow.
 
Growing up in a military family, Michael moved around, but after graduating from the USNA Prep School and attending two years at USNA, he chose to settle in Annapolis to pursue his love of cars. He studied at Anne Arundel Community College and worked at a local shop for five years, garnering the necessary credentials and experience. In 1998, Michael opened Redd’s Automotive.

Leading the team with a "do it right the first time" mentality is owner Michael "Redd" Ostrowski. He makes sure he and his technicians stay current on the newest equipment and developments in the automotive industry by actively participating in regular training. Their extensive knowledge enables them to accurately and confidently handle any repair, from simple maintenance to complicated problems.

Let me start by stating that, until lately, I haven't trusted anyone to work on any of my vehicles due to bad experiences with other shops over a decade ago. I moved to the Annapolis area just over 2 years ago, and when I had a couple of issues with one of my cars and was in a crunch to get it done, I took the car to Redds after hearing good things about them. They have since relieved my hesitation about letting anyone else work on my car. I still won't trust anyone else, but I trust this business after having taken 2 of my cars in several times for a variety of work, and leaving with the car done just the way I would have done it if I had currently had the workspace to do it. Top-notch work every time. Willie, who is a technician there, has worked on my car several of those times and has always done an amazing job, so I have to give a bit of credit to him for this review. If you're in the area and looking for honest, quality work... I think you need to visit this shop. They are very skilled technicians who will get the job done right the first time, and the service writer, Ed, has always been a pleasure to deal with as well.
